Tiramisu Protein Balls

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Total Time: 1 hour 20 minutes

Serves: Makes 4 Servings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup hazelnut chocolate spread
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, divided
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 scoop (about 25 g) chocolate or vanilla protein powder
  • 2 oz. cold brew
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

How to Make:

    Step 1

  1. In a food processor, combine rolled oats, hazelnut chocolate spread, almond butter, honey, 2 oz. cream cheese, salt, protein powder, and cold brew. Pulse slowly until mixture just comes together to form a coarse, sticky dough. Chill for 1 hour.
  2. Step 2

  3. Divide dough into 12 balls about 1-1/2 inches in size.
  4. Step 3

  5. Cut the remaining cream cheese evenly into 12 pieces. One at a time, press a deep thumbprint into each dough ball and fill it with a piece of cream cheese, gently pressing the mixture to cover the cream cheese with dough.
  6. Step 4

  7. Reroll to shape and repeat with remaining dough.
  8. Step 5

  9. Dust protein bites with cocoa powder and eat immediately, or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Chef’s note: Try adding flaxseed or chia seeds, or chopped nuts and toasted coconut.
